This 2 part course will introduce you to some of the most commonly used postures (asanas), sequences (including sun salutations - surya namaskar), and breathing techniques (pranayama) found in many of our timetabled classes.
Through individual, partner and group work, you will build a mindful and strong foundation for your future yoga practice.
You will get to explore physiological and mental benefits of yoga, how props can be used to elevate and support your practice, with a little sanskrit, history and meditation thrown in for good measure.
Each posture will be explored in depth, looking at the benefits, modifications and alignment so you can feel confident stepping out of your shoes and on to the mat.
This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those wishing to get back to basics.
