What: Week-long getaways for seasoned professional musicians to come together in a supportive, peaceful, communal setting to practice yoga, hone their crafts, and share creative ideas. Think artist colony meets yoga retreat!
When: September 4-11, 2019.
Where: Chateau de Queille in the south of France (September 4-11 2019).
Who: Approximately twenty open-minded, generously-spirited people who love music, movement, and the ongoing exploration of the relationship between the two. Any musicians looking to prepare for an audition, work on a composition, rehearse in a peaceful yet concentrated environment, or just in need of a healing retreat is welcome.
Why: For those who are already so fortunate as to embrace a full body-mind-spirit approach to music-making, the idea of a typical yoga retreat is appealing though not entirely practical, as it is rarely possible for a musician to take a week-long break from his or her craft. If this sounds like new territory: all the more reason to devote a week to self-exploration and to connecting with a community of open-hearted musicians! The Retreat will give those in the thick of creative output the opportunity to prepare for whatever they might have on the horizon – an audition, performance, deadline, etc. – while nurturing their physical and emotional selves; similarly, it will give those looking to recharge and disconnect from the daily grind the opportunity to do so by providing ample peace and inspiration through yoga, nature, and musical positivity in the presence of a warm, understanding community.
